This blog is all about rusty old crap that I find lying around. Not sure why I like this sort of thing. Partly it's the sense of nostalgia, remembering something that was once new and brilliant, maybe state-of-the-art technology from years gone by, or something that represents the pride and joy or effort of its creator. Partly it's because I hate the idea that beauty = flawless. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and while many people do like flawless, I just happen to like rust.

Anyway, on with the crap...

Some fantastic rusty old mining machinery at  Big Pit in South Wales.  These worked hard for many years down a real working coal mine, but now that mining in South Wales is not really economically viable, they now lie resting in the sunshine in the beautiful Welsh countryside.

Pay a visit if you're ever in the area, the ex-miners love sharing their former life with visitors, and it's free.

Taken on a Nokia 6700s phone.
