This blog is all about rusty old crap that I find lying around. Not sure why I like this sort of thing. Partly it's the sense of nostalgia, remembering something that was once new and brilliant, maybe state-of-the-art technology from years gone by, or something that represents the pride and joy or effort of its creator. Partly it's because I hate the idea that beauty = flawless. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and while many people do like flawless, I just happen to like rust.


Anyway, on with the crap...

This is the name plate of a rusty old roller found in the field Polmanter in St Ives, Cornwall.
Bizarrely, it appears that these are still available new from Mortimer, although according to Wikipedia the original company Sothert & Pitt went bust in 1989.
